Child-Based Play Therapy

Through play—their natural language—children are given a safe, trauma-informed space to express emotions, process experiences, and build resilience at their own pace. Our therapists understand how stress and trauma can impact behavior, development, and regulation, and we respond with patience, attunement, and compassion. We work with children ages 5 and up (adjusting for younger children as needed), offering 50–55 minute sessions designed to support emotional healing, coping skills, and healthy self-esteem.

Family involvement is encouraged as part of a collaborative, empowering approach. When appropriate, we coordinate with schools, pediatricians, or other providers to strengthen the support systems around your child and promote consistent, holistic care.

BENEFITS TO PLAY THERAPY

Through consistent support and reflection, play therapy can:

  • Provides a developmentally appropriate, non-threatening space where children can express feelings they may not yet have words for.

  • Helps children build tools to manage big emotions, anxiety, and trauma-related stress responses.

  • Supports secure relationships through attuned, consistent therapeutic connection and family involvement.

  • Encourages self-esteem, problem-solving skills, and a stronger sense of safety within themselves and their world.
